A lawsuit has been filed against the Sigma Chi fraternity and a bar in Waco, Texas, over the 2010 death of a 19-year-old girl from alcohol poisoning. The girl was reportedly served between 10 and 17 drinks at the bar in a two-hour period and died later that night at a Waco hospital. The suit is seeking unspecified damages. A lawsuit has been filed against a school bus company in Indiana over a fatal school bus wreck on March 12; the suit claims the deaths could have been prevented if the bus had seat belts. The driver and a five-year-old boy were killed in the crash, and others were hospitalized. The suit says the company, Miller Transportation "operated an unsafe bus because it didn't have seat belts." The death of a Georgia man killed in an accident with a police cruiser has prompted a $5 million lawsuit against the Gwinnett County Police Department and the officer involved in the crash.
